The Clouded Shell

Departure: December 19th, 2019

A habit I picked up for some reason, the last time I was in China, was to stand on the edges of crowds, to seek air, to stay outdoors as long as possible. This meant I had chances to talk to locals as they stood outside of airports smoking — waiting to leave. I’m leaving Timișoara for Barcelona and I will wonder in March if the young doctor with dreams of Canada will be enlisted to help in an Ontario hospital. I will wonder if the impatient woman with her face out the departure door, the one I will sit next to on a bus travelling down the decorated Santes as we talk of world travel and how annoying it is with security measures, all those measures, will survive.

Seeking air at the edges. Thanks for helping me appreciate living at the edge.
